Brosella has also proposed a “carte blanche” to Lander Gyselinck. He's been working on a special program, merging some Belgian friends with big names of the American hip-hop scene. A special treat for the youngsters amongst the Brosella audience.
Lander (°21/11/1987) was rewarded last year with the Toots Thielemans Award of the Royal Conservatory of Brussels. He has been studying jazz drums at the Conservatory of Ghent with Arnoud Gerritse, Pierre Vaiana and Erik Vermeulen. Later on, he went for a Master at the Conservatory of Brussels under the guidance of Stéphane Galland (Aka Moon), Kris Defoort and John Ruocco. He’s very much in demand as a jazz drummer and is also part of the Kris Defoort Trio and the LAB trio. He was invited by the Chinese saxophone player Li Tie Qiao in September 2010 to perform in Shanghai and Beijing. Nowadays he’s concentrating on improvised music. His work is a melting pot of varied musical ideas and genres, creating a unique blend of jazz, hip-hop, electronic and contemporary music.
Georgia Anne Muldrow is an Afrocentric neo-soul performer and producer known for her existential themes, while Dudley Perkins is an emcee focused on consciousness-expansion and is most famous for his work with producer Madlib. The pair met while both were signed to Stones Throw Records. It was love at first sight. At least partly because Perkins was unhappy with the label, however, the two left the label and began putting out their music independently through their own label SomeOthaShip Connect. They're the perfect musical pair: both practicing vegans, they live and record together in Inglewood, California. http://someothaship.com/2011/04/someothaship-connect-2011-compilation
