In this concert the HaftCraft ensemble displays the soul of Iranian music and poetry. The ensemble's musicians commissioned Iranian composers to write musical pieces that would unite the traditions of Persian and Western Classical music. In the subtle, heartrending songs we hear the masterfulness of the Iranian composers, who turn sensitive themes into abstract art forms as a way of evading the Iranian censors. The mastery of the Belgian musicians is to be found in the string quartet, bassoon and the clear voice of Albanian soprano Ana Naqe
, who sings the songs in Farsi to mark the occasion. Lyrics were written by Iranian poets like Sohrab Sepehry and Nima Yooshij. The young talents will join in a number of songs and their additional voices will turn the concert in a unique experience. Not to be missed!
After her general musical education and a violin training in Tirana (Albania), Ana received her masters’ singing and violin – both magna cum laude - at the Luca Lemmens Institute in Leuven. She attended master classes ‘singing’ with – amongst others - Jard van Nes, Axel Everaert, Alexander Oliver, Leandra Overmann, Udo Reinemann at the Amsterdam Conservatory (NL), Ermonela Jaho and Tara Venditti. She completed her transition to lirico spinto soprano, whilst adding new roles to her repertoire.
Ana sang main roles in opera’s like “Die Zauberflöte” and “La Clemenza di Tito” (W.A. Mozart), “Lo Speziale” (Haydn), “Die Fledermaus” (Strauss), “Hänsel und Gretel” (Humperdinck), “La Périchole” (Offenbach), “La Scala di Seta” (Rossini), “Béatrice et Bénédict” (Berlioz), the opera “KET” (K. de Jonghe, world première), “Carmen” (Bizet), “Les Noces” (Stravinsky), “Dido and Aeneas” (Purcell), “Salomé” (Strauss), “La Bohème” (Puccini) and “Cossi fan Tutte” (W.A. Mozart).
Ana has been performing in opera’s, oratorio, Lied recitals, experimental music theatre, sometimes blended with own creations of contemporary classical music. This brought her to all parts of the world, including Japan, Australia and Canada.
Together with her classical vocals students, Ana Naque will definitely offer you an unforgettable performance.
